The Publishing Professionals Network (PPN) is pleased to announce free attendance for fifteen aspiring and early-career publishers at its fifth annual conference.

The event, “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know: Publishing in Conversation with Other Industries,” will take place on Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio, San Francisco.

Sessions will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on these topics:

  • Financial Freedom for Freelancers 
  • Online Sales: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Getting Started and Keeping Up the Momentum 
  • What’s the Secret to Discovering Talent through Social Media?
  • Publishing for Good: Writing and Publishing that Focuses on Positive Social Change

The deadline to apply is April 2, 2018.

The application form can be found below. In the cover memo field, please articulate your motivations for exploring or pursuing a career in book publishing in one or two paragraphs. Please attach your resumé.

Preference will be given to persons with two years of experience or less in the book industry and to those who have demonstrated their interest in the book industry via extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or classes attended.

Persons of color, members of the LGBTQ community, and the differently abled are encouraged to apply.
